I wanted to give you a short update on what I have been working on since the tragedy two days ago.
I have taken immediate action and the shrubs that have been impeding signage and pedestrian pathways will be cut back today. We have identified several crossings requiring new paint and this will be a top priority. The status quo is not enough and we cannot accept the bare minimum.
I have in the past and will continue to collaborate with residents, the crossing guard, the principal at Convent Glen and the local community association to keep our students and vunerable road users safe in the area.
Bien qu’il soit important de permettre la fin de l’enquête, nous pouvons prendre plusieurs mesures entre-temps. Je continuerai à travailler en étroite collaboration avec le personnel dans les prochains jours et à prendre des mesures immédiates partout où cela sera possible.
