Hello Orléans, Bonjour Orléans! I miss you and continue to work hard for you in these trying times. From all of us here working on your behalf in Ward 1, we hope you and your friends and family have enjoyed a safe, healthy, and happy March! Lately, we’ve seen a few glimpses of sun and warm days – I strongly encourage you to get outside if you can. The sunshine and fresh air can be excellent for your mood and mental health. I’m here in Marsha Park this afternoon filming this video. But it’s also my chance to get outside in the community. It’s recharging my battery.
In this month’s Community update, I begin by sharing a personal thought about mental health. It’s ok to not be ok. It’s ok to ask for help.
The we touch on matters that are happening in our community, like:
* Update on COVID-19 and the vaccination plan in City of Ottawa
* Status of the LRT Stage 2 East Extension, and the impacts to Orléans
* The The Heart of Orléans BIA #PicturePerfectBIA
* Cleaning the Capital and how to get involved
* Service Line Warranties of Canada
*Dan Kelly releasing a wonderful new song entitled “The Ever After”
Folks, you know as well as I do that in times like these, nothing is more important than sticking together and helping each other out. That’s why we live here. We are so lucky to live in a community like Orléans with such compassionate, caring people, and while it might not always be easy, I would like to encourage everyone to find the positives around them, as well as challenge you to be a positive force in someone else’s life that’s close to you. By working together, sharing our love and support, we can get through anything. Cheers to brighter days, so long to Winter, and nothing but the warmest of wishes from my family, to yours.
