Check out my June community update video!

Earlier this month I hosted the first installment of Steeped in Conversation – my Community Tea for Seniors and it was a great success!Thank you to everyone who made it so special:

💐 Geraldine, for your care and dedication
🏫 The incredible staff at Ray Friel
🎁 All of the generous sponsors and vendors
☕ The many thrift stores who donated lovely tea cups and pots
🌸 Black Walnut & Flowermania for helping us set the perfect scene
🎶 The Wailin’ Hues for the wonderful music
🙌 Our amazing volunteers — you’re the heartbeat of events like these
💼 And of course, my fantastic team who pulled it all together

Events like this remind us how much knowledge, experience, and wisdom lives right here in Orléans East–Cumberland. Our seniors built the community we’re so lucky to live in, and it’s always a privilege to celebrate them.

If you missed this one, don’t worry – we’ll be doing it again!

Have Your Say: 2026 Draft Budget

The Draft Budget questionnaire is available until June 30. Your responses on the city’s priorities will help shape the development of the draft budget. Each year the City of Ottawa engages with residents to gather ideas and feedback as it drafts the budget for City Council’s consideration. You have many opportunities to provide your input on items reflected in the budget year-round through your Councillor’s office, committee meetings, social media, contacting 3-1-1 and scheduled engagement opportunities during the budget process.

Your feedback helps shape the City’s budget priorities and contributes to decisions about investing in a sustainable, secure, and prosperous city for all.

For more information and to fill out the questionnaire please visit Engage Ottawa.

Did you know that June is Stroke Month? You can’t reason with a stroke. The instant you recognize any of the signs, call 9-1-1 FAST. Do not drive to the hospital. An ambulance will drive you to the closest hospital that provides urgent stroke care.

Know the signs. Lifesaving treatment begins the second you call 9-1-1.
