Association President Gary Bradshaw and I narrowly beat Team RBC at the Bytown Fire Brigade hose-rolling race! Great conversations, awesome food by Golden Fries Orleans and great music from the Wednesday afternoon crew from Royal Canadian Legion – Orléans Branch 632. Thank you to the assocation executive for organizing. J’étais heureux de vous soutenir.

Yesterday I had the pleasure of presenting the 2019 Karsh Award to local artist Andrew Wright

It was privilege to be joined by members of the Karsh Family, including Estrellita Karsh.

The Karsh-Masson Gallery, located at Ottawa City Hall, will host an exhibit of Mr. Wright’s work from January 23 to February 23, 2020.

Yesterday, Mathieu Fleury and I, both former lifeguards, presented the proclamation to kick off the week on behalf of the mayor. Did you know the City of Ottawa is a leader in drowning prevention? We received the #WaterSmart award from the Lifesaving Society this year!

The Parkdale Food Centre is a remarkable place. Yesterday, I enjoyed an afternoon with Executive Director Karen Secord learning about the programs offered, and joined the team for an incredible community meal. My stomach, but especially my heart, is so full.

Everything Karen, Simon and the incredible team do in this building starts with kindness. It was a profound experience of love, generosity and community.

Thank you, Karen, for the beautiful afternoon and for all you do for Ottawa.

Starting on Tuesday July 16th, crews will be completing some daytime culvert rehabilitation work on the 174 eastbound on-ramp at Place d’Orléans and the 174 westbound on-ramp at Tenth Line. The blue line in the images shows were work will be taking place. Work is expected to be complete within two weeks.

During the work, the roadway may be narrowed through the use of construction barrels to allow for construction vehicles parked on the shoulder, but the bulk of the work will take place off the road. Barring unforeseen emergencies, the highway ramps will not be closed at any time.

I spent this morning with Ali and Scott touring the Ruddy Family YMCA- YWCA and learning about the incredible programs they are running. Did you know they have an amazing kids play area and run Pickleball?
